Remembering the Foundation of IFCR

Melbourne is fortunate to host the RI Convention for the second time in 2023.    It was at the first convention in Melbourne in 1993 that the International Fellowship of Cricket Loving Rotarians was chartered resulting from the initiative of 1993 RI president, Rajendra K Saboo, from India and past RI director, Geoffrey Pike, from England.

The Long Room at the MCG was the site of the meeting which saw the founding of our fellowship.

I am pleased to advise that there will be a commemoration lunch in the Hugh Trumble Room at the MCG on Wednesday May 31 to which all members of our fellowship attending the convention are invited.

The lunch will commence at 12.30pm and be preceded by a 75-minute tour of the ground for members wishing to participate.    The lunch menu will cater for all tastes and be moderately priced.  The cost of the tour will also be moderate.    Payment will be made on the day for both the lunch and the tour.

Members wishing to attend the lunch and/or the tour are requested to advise organiser Richard Groom at rgroom@iinet.net.au by Friday April 28.

·       I wish to be part of the lunch and/or

·       I wish to be part of the tour

Yours in Rotary,
